Ways to savor the solar eclipse if you’re hungry or thirsty

Restaurant­s and hotels around the city won’t be going dark this Monday. In preparatio­n for the upcoming solar eclipse, eateries in and around Boston are featuring special food and drink deals. Before and after the eclipse — which passes over the city from 2:16 p.m. to 4:39 p.m. — here are six tasty and money-saving ways to celebrate.

“TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE BLUE MOON”

The Liberty Hotel is crafting a specialty cocktail in celebratio­n of the total eclipse called “Total Eclipse of the Blue Moon.” It includes tequila, Benedictin­e, lemon juice, orange juice, agave nectar, and more. The Liberty Hotel, 215 Charles St., libertyhot­el.com

THE “TWILIGHT” SAGA: “ECLIPSE”

MOVIE PARTY Alamo Drafthouse in the Seaport will host a screening of “Eclipse,” the third movie in the “Twilight” saga, to celebrate the total eclipse on Monday. Themed props, custom-packaged hand warmers, moon keychains, and more will be offered to guests to trying to get into character. April 7, 11 a.m. Prices vary. DECK 12 ROOFTOP WATCH PARTY Take in the eclipse from the rooftop of Deck 12 in Seaport. Throughout the eclipse’s approximat­e passage over Boston, the restaurant is offering half-priced appetizers with the purchase of a drink alongside compliment­ary eclipse glasses. April 8.

SONIC BLACKOUT SLUSH FLOAT Sonic Drive-In, with locations in Peabody and Stoughton, is rolling out a specialty sweet treat to coincide with the specialty event. The blackout slush float, made with vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and “blackout slush flavor” (cotton candy and dragonfrui­t) is 370 calories and is available from until May 8.
