God has called home his beloved son, David Scott McGray, on April 11, 2024, at 58 years of age. David passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on May 25, 1965, the seventh of nine children of Carolyn McGray of Peabody MA, with whom David lived happily for his entire life, along with his twin brother Michael. David had Down syndrome and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School in 1987. He worked at New England Biolabs for 32 years as a Materials Handler. David lived a full and rich life. David was passionate about African Drumming, WWE wrestling, music, and dancing. A Special Olympics athlete, he won silver and bronze medals at the Internatio­nal Summer Special Olympics in 1987. He was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Peabody.

David was adventurou­s, outgoing, and gregarious. He loved to meet new people and had a kind, devoted, sweet, welcoming and genuine nature. He blessed everyone with unconditio­nal love. He was the best “hugger” and said, “I love you” often to his friends and family. David was a beautiful gift from God. Hearts are broken everywhere with his passing and he will be missed forever.

David leaves behind his beloved and devoted mother, Carolyn; twin, Michael McGray; siblings, William McGray, (Mary Blaisdell), Linda McGray,

Laurie Wilson (Charles Wilson), Susan Ricciardel­li (Albert Ricciardel­li), Julie Carleton (Tom Carleton), Kevin McGray (Cathy McGray) and Mary Hall (Eric Hall); Goddaughte­r, Sarah McGray; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandniece­s and grandnephe­ws. David was predecease­d by his long-time sweetheart, Terry Duff; and his nephew, Benjamin Blaisdell. A Visitation will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., PEABODY, MA, on Sunday, April 21, from 2 to 5 pm. His Funeral Mass, will be held at 10 am, on Monday, April 22, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 17 Chestnut Street, Peabody MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 226 North Street, Salem MA.
