BARRY, Lillian T. (Mulhern)

Age 91, of Norwell, Massachuse­tts, passed away, April 13, 2024, at home with her family by her side.

She was born to the late James and Jeannette C. Mulhern in Boston. Lillian moved to Holbrook in 1940 and graduated from Holbrook High School in 1950.

She married her high school sweetheart, J. Leo Barry, Jr. in 1954, in Holbrook and joined him at Fort Carson in Colorado. They returned to Massachuse­tts in 1955 and over the next 43 years, Lillian raised their family and was active in the community of Whitman before moving to Norwell.

She is survived by Michael Barry and his wife, Karen, of Duxbury,

Long Island City, NY, Lisa (Barry)

Lyons and her husband, James of Norwell; her daughter-in-law and beloved companion, Lisa Ann Barry of Whitman; and daughter-in-law, Cresca Barry of Peterborou­gh, NH. She was the proud Nana to ten grandchild­ren and nine great-grandchild­ren.

Sadly, Lillian was predecease­d by her eldest son, Mark of Hancock, NH.

She has a long legacy of community service. During her years in the town of Whitman, she served as a member of the Board of Selectmen, School Committee, Finance Committee,

Parent Teacher’s Associatio­n, Whitman School Study Committee, Middle

School Building Committee and The Arts Council. She volunteere­d at the Cardinal Cushing School. She was a member of The Holy Ghost Church in Whitman.

She was generous and kind-hearted and always made room for one more at her table. A full house was how she liked it.

All are welcome to Visiting Hours on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2 to 5 pm, and Monday, April 22, from

9:30 am to 11:00 am, at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, St. Mary’s of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Hanover, MA. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Monday, April 22.
