Locals in National American Miss pageant.
The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4 to 18, and have five different age divisions.
Locals to compete among other young ladies throughout the state include: Danika Payge Weller and Helene Freedman in the preteen division, and Hannah Freedman in the junior preteen division.
The pageant is set to be held August 12-14 at the Hilton Harriburg Hotel and Towers in Harrisburg. Each of the contestants have shared their activities.
Danika Weller, 10, is the daughter of Kristin and Dustin Weller. She participates in gymnastics and is currently training for the Disney Princess 10K in Feb. 2017 as a runner for the research for the American Association of Cancer Research.
Helene Freedman, 8, and Hannah Freedman, 10, are the daughters of Kristen and Troy Freedman. Helene’s activities include gymnastics, cheerleading, and cross country. She also enjoys shopping, skiing and snowboarding, and transportation skills. Hannah’s activities include track, cheerleading, and gymnastics. She also enjoys ice skating, paitning, and swimming.
The winner of the pageant will receive a $1,000 cash reward, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California — receiving a Tour of Hollywood as well as two V.I.P. tickets to Disneyland.
