FRIDAY, JUNE 17 Book Sale: To be held from 8:30a.m. to 4p.m. Friends of the Boyertown Community Library semi-annual book sale will be held at Good Shepherd UCC Church, 35W. Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown. THURSDAY, JUNE 16 Lions Club: The Boyertown Lions Club will hold their regular dinner meeting at the Gilbertsville Fire Company, 1454E. Philadelphia Ave, Gilbertsville at 6:30PM. Lion Jim Groff will be discussing Lion Disaster Relief. This will be the last meeting until September. SATURDAY, JUNE 18
Bag of Books: To be held from 8a.m. to noon. Friends of the Boyertown Community Library semi-annual book sale will be held at Good Shepherd UCC Church, 35W. Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown. The Saturday Bag of Books Sale charges a nominal fee per bag of books, we supply the bag. Huff’s Union Church Picnic: Hereford Township. Food and baked goods available after 4p.m. Entertainment, Midnight Special from 5-8p.m. weather permitting. Free children’s activities (up to age 10) from 4:30to 5:30p.m. Haunted Boyertown Ghost Walk: Begins 8p.m. from the Boyertown Borough Hall, 100S. Washington Street. Entertaining walk about Boyertown highlights properties where there is known or suspected paranormal activity. There are two walks, on Reading Avenue and East Philadelphia Avenue. There is a cost. Pancake Breakfast: 8-11 a.m., all you can eat pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, orange juice and apple juice. Cost is a free-will donation to our Relay for Life Team, Calvary Cancer Crusaders. MONDAY, JUNE 20 QPR Suicide Prevention Session: 7p.m. in the upstairs of the Huff’s Union Church Rohrbach Chapel (across street from the church at 540Conrad Road, Alburtis). QPR stands for question, persuade, answer. Using material and a PowerPoint developed by Dr. Paul Quintett, certified QPR trainer Pastor Jane Kropa will help non-professions learn how to respond to someone who might be contemplating suicide. This one hour program is free and open to the public. TUESDAY, JUNE 21 BINGO Nite: Hosted by The Center at Spring Street, 200 W. Spring St., Boyertown. Doors open 4p.m. with refreshments available for purchase. We offer hamburgers, hot dogs, soup, chips, a variety of candy, ice cream and desserts. Bingo begins at 6p.m. and prizes include meat, grocery and small money prizes. A 50⁄50 is played and door prizes are given out. There is an admission fee. For more info, call 610-367-2313.
