What was the town like in 1866?
Walking tour slated for Sept. 26
Building a Better Boyertown will be sponsoring a special 150th Anniversary Walking Tour on Sunday, Sept. 26 to help remember what the town was like in 1866.
The tour will include multiple stops all over town, and will focus on major farms and important historical figures from 1866 that helped grow Boyertown into what it is today.
“It’s really quite interesting how the town developed,” said event organizer Gretchen Lee, “the tour will help paint the picture of what Boyertown was like back then.”
The walking tour begins at 43 S. Chestnut Street and will run from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 day of the event. Tickets are available at Frecon Farms 501 S Reading Avenue and the Building a Better Boyertown (BBB) office at 3 E. Philadelphia Avenue.
The rain date for the event is Oct. 2. Call 610 369-3054 for more information or to reserve tickets . For more information, visit <www. boyertownpa.org> calendar of events.
