Author releases children’s book
Readings and book signings set for Nov. 5 through December
Dori Hoch, of Blandon, recently released her latest book, “A Bunny Brothers’ Christmas.” Hoch’s book is filled with colorful illustrations of Bobby and Benjamin Bunnies antics of writing letters to Santa with each one hoping for a toy train just like their friend’s, Tom Turkey.
Hoch, a retired elementary teacher and reading specialist from the Fleetwood and Wilson School Districts, collaborated with artist and author, Jane Wolfgang, a former elementary art teacher for Governor Mifflin and Wilson, to create a book suitable for preschoolers through early elementary. Inspired by her grandchildren’s love of stories read to them, Hoch created Bobby and Benjamin Bunny. This Christmas book is a sequel to her first two books in the series, “The Easter Bunny Brothers: and “The Bunny Brothers First Thanksgiving.”
“Bobby and Benjamin struggle with wanting to get the “best” toy for Christmas and learn the important concept of thinking of others in this comical tale. Wolfgang’s colorful illustrations bring these bunnies to life,” Hoch said. In Hoch’s newest story, both Bobby and Benjamin want a red toy train just like Tom Turkey’s. When Santa arrives on Christmas Eve, Bobby awakens, surprises Santa, and one of the trains gets broken. Will the train get fixed? If not, which brother will get the coveted toy? With a wink of his eye, Santa hopes that Bobby will save the day. Hoch will be doing a reading with signing of her books at various locations on the following dates:
