Nov. 9 New Hanover Historical Society:
Jim Wosochlo, former president of the Society for Pennsylvania Archeology, will present an illustrated program describing petroglyphs that he recently photographed in Central Mexico. Petroglyphs are carved etchings on rock. Created by Native Americans, some of the petroglyphs are believed to be 6000 years old. The presentation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Swamp Creek School House on Reifsnyder Road by the Swamp Creek Park. As always the public is invited, and there will be light refreshments.

Holiday bazaar: Saturday, Nov. 19, 9a.m. -2p.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ, 337 Main St., Oley. Shoofly and fruit pies, AP cakes, cookies, gift snacks, soups, crafts, flea market. A lunch of soups, turkey and beef barbecues, hot dogs, hoagies, and pies will be available to eat in or take out. Outside vendors will also be present with various items such as plants and handcrafted items. Raffle tickets for a homemade quilt and other handmade items will sell for $1 each or 6 for $5.
