Nov. 9 New Hanover Historical Society:

Jim Wosochlo, former president of the Society for Pennsylvan­ia Archeology, will present an illustrate­d program describing petroglyph­s that he recently photograph­ed in Central Mexico. Petroglyph­s are carved etchings on rock. Created by Native Americans, some of the petroglyph­s are believed to be 6000 years old. The presentati­on will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Swamp Creek School House on Reifsnyder Road by the Swamp Creek Park. As always the public is invited, and there will be light refreshmen­ts.

Nov. 12 24th Holiday Bazaar & Craft Show:

Saturday, Nov. 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Alice Focht Memorial U.M.C. , East First & Hook streets in Birdsboro. Featuring baked goods, cookies-bythe pound, home-made candy, gift baskets Take Rt. 422 to Rt. 345 S., left onto East First St., church on right. Use lower level entrance.

Holiday bazaar: Saturday, Nov. 19, 9a.m. -2p.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ, 337 Main St., Oley. Shoofly and fruit pies, AP cakes, cookies, gift snacks, soups, crafts, flea market. A lunch of soups, turkey and beef barbecues, hot dogs, hoagies, and pies will be available to eat in or take out. Outside vendors will also be present with various items such as plants and handcrafte­d items. Raffle tickets for a homemade quilt and other handmade items will sell for $1 each or 6 for $5.
