Jan. 5 The Boyertown Lions Club: will hold their dinner meeting at the Gilbertsvi­lle Fire Company, 1454 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsvi­lle at 6:30p.m.. This will be our monthly board meeting. Pick up is Jan. 21 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Jan. 15 The Boyertown Area Historical Society: will lay a wreath on the graves of the 25 unidentifi­ed victims of the tragic Opera House fire at the Fairview Cemetery, W. Philadelph­ia Ave, Boyertown, on Sunday, January 15 at 1 PM to commemorat­e that heartbreak­ing event in 1908 that killed 170 people. The public is invited, and descendant­s of those victims are encouraged to share family memories passed down through the years. Jan. 15 The Boyertown Lions Club: Basket/Purse Bingo will be held at the Keystone Fire Company, Walnut & Spring St., Boyertown. Doors open at 1 p.m.. Play starts at 2 p.m. Admission gives you 20 games of bingo. Additional special games may be purchased. Door Prizes. Refreshmen­ts will be sold. Meet the Mummer: Lee Ford, Good Timers Comic Division, Southside Shooters Brigadwill offer a brief history of the Mummers while wearing his 2017 New Year’s Day costume! He will bring several authentic Mummers’ costumes and Center members and guests will have the opportunit­y to try a costume on and try out their Mummers’ strut. Anyone 55 years of age or older is welcome to attend. Those wishing to also join us for lunch on the day of the tournament should call the Center at least two days in advance to make a meal reservatio­n and plan to be present at 11:30 a.m. for the meal. The suggested meal donation is $2.50 Jan. 10, 6-9p.m. BINGO Nite: open to the public. The doors open at 4 p.m. with refreshmen­ts available for purchase. We offer hamburgers

and hot dogs, soup, chips, a variety of candy, ice cream and desserts. Bingo begins at 6p.m. and prizes include meat, grocery, and small money prizes. A 50⁄50 is played and door prizes are also given out during the evening. Admission is charged . All Center members receive a free card with their Center membership card. Coupons for a Cause: open to the public. Help us support our troops! Military families stationed overseas can use expired coupons to purchase items in the Commissary. Through generous donations from the community, we have coupons! We just need people of all ages to help clip, sort and total these coupons! Thanks to a generous donation by The Boyertown American Legion – Charles B. Yerger Post 471 to cover the cost of postage we have the funds available to ship those coupons! We just need the people power to get the coupons ready. We’ll have areas set up around the room — you can choose to clip, sort and/or total. We’ll provide everything you’ll need! Jan. 12, 1-2 p.m. Musical Entertainm­ent: Jeff Krick – Elvis Tribute Artist. Entertainm­ent programs are free of charge. Anyone 55 years of age or older is invited to attend.
