Jan. 5 The Boy­er­town Lions Club: will hold their din­ner meet­ing at the Gil­bertsville Fire Com­pany, 1454 E. Phila. Ave., Gil­bertsville at 6:30p.m.. This will be our monthly board meet­ing. Pick up is Jan. 21 be­tween 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Jan. 15 The Boy­er­town Area His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety: will lay a wreath on the graves of the 25 uniden­ti­fied vic­tims of the tragic Opera House fire at the Fairview Ceme­tery, W. Phil­a­del­phia Ave, Boy­er­town, on Sun­day, Jan­uary 15 at 1 PM to com­mem­o­rate that heart­break­ing event in 1908 that killed 170 peo­ple. The pub­lic is in­vited, and de­scen­dants of those vic­tims are en­cour­aged to share fam­ily mem­o­ries passed down through the years. Jan. 15 The Boy­er­town Lions Club: Bas­ket/Purse Bingo will be held at the Key­stone Fire Com­pany, Wal­nut & Spring St., Boy­er­town. Doors open at 1 p.m.. Play starts at 2 p.m. Ad­mis­sion gives you 20 games of bingo. Ad­di­tional spe­cial games may be pur­chased. Door Prizes. Re­fresh­ments will be sold. Meet the Mum­mer: Lee Ford, Good Timers Comic Divi­sion, South­side Shoot­ers Bri­gad­will of­fer a brief his­tory of the Mum­mers while wear­ing his 2017 New Year’s Day cos­tume! He will bring sev­eral au­then­tic Mum­mers’ cos­tumes and Cen­ter mem­bers and guests will have the op­por­tu­nity to try a cos­tume on and try out their Mum­mers’ strut. Any­one 55 years of age or older is wel­come to at­tend. Those wish­ing to also join us for lunch on the day of the tour­na­ment should call the Cen­ter at least two days in ad­vance to make a meal reser­va­tion and plan to be present at 11:30 a.m. for the meal. The sug­gested meal do­na­tion is $2.50 Jan. 10, 6-9p.m. BINGO Nite: open to the pub­lic. The doors open at 4 p.m. with re­fresh­ments avail­able for pur­chase. We of­fer ham­burg­ers

Coupons for a Cause: open to the pub­lic. Help us sup­port our troops! Mil­i­tary fam­i­lies sta­tioned over­seas can use ex­pired coupons to pur­chase items in the Com­mis­sary. Through gen­er­ous do­na­tions from the com­mu­nity, we have coupons! We just need peo­ple of all ages to help clip, sort and to­tal these coupons! Thanks to a gen­er­ous do­na­tion by The Boy­er­town Amer­i­can Le­gion – Charles B. Yerger Post 471 to cover the cost of postage we have the funds avail­able to ship those coupons! We just need the peo­ple power to get the coupons ready. We’ll have ar­eas set up around the room — you can choose to clip, sort and/or to­tal. We’ll pro­vide ev­ery­thing you’ll need!
