Community invited to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. service
Event sponsored by Boyertown Area Ministerial Association
On Monday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. the Boyertown Area community gathers to pursue the “dream” of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The service takes place at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville.
The Boyertown Area Senior High School Show choir directed by Jeffrey Brunner and the Pine Forge Academy choir led by Dr. Andrew Marshall will sing.
Pine Forge Academy Chaplain Peggy Trusti directs a drama by students from Pine Forge Academy and Boyertown area churches, based on this years’ theme, “Celebrating Progress , Remembering There Is Work To Do.”
Pastors from the Boyertown area churches will lead the worship.
Nicole Hughes the Principal and Headmaster at Pine Forge Academy, and Dr. Richard Faidley, the Superintendant of the Boyertown Area School District will read selected passages from Rev. King’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail”.
An offering is received that supports projects in the Boyertown Area that advance the dream of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Refreshments and fellowship follow the service.
