Sealant Satur­day

On “Sealant Satur­day,” Mont­gomery County Com­mu­nity Col­lege den­tal hy­giene stu­dents and mem­bers of the Penn­syl­va­nia Den­tal Hy­gien­ist’s As­so­ci­a­tion (PDHA) will pro­vide free sealants as part of PDHA’s “Sealant Satur­day” statewide outreach pro­gram. This event will be held on Feb. 11 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for chil­dren ages 6-14 in the Col­lege’s Den­tal Hy­giene Clinic.

Com­pli­men­tary screen­ings, sealants and free tooth­brushes will be of­fered to the chil­dren. The ser­vices in­clude oral ex­ams com­pleted by li­censed den­tists, place­ment of sealants by reg­is­tered den­tal hy­gien­ists in con­junc­tion with the den­tal hy­giene stu­dents, flu­o­ride treat­ments, and oral health care in­struc­tions.

Den­tal sealants are a thin, clear, pro­tec­tive bar­rier placed on chil­dren’s’ per­ma­nent teeth to help pre­vent fu­ture den­tal de­cay.
