Boy­er­town boys win team ti­tle at Perkiomen Val­ley In­vi­ta­tional

With the Dis­trict 1 Swim­ming Cham­pi­onships loom­ing just a cou­ple week­ends away, the Perkiomen Val­ley In­vi­ta­tional was held on Satur­day.

The Phoenixville girls claimed first out of 16 teams with 273.5 team points. In sec­ond was West Ch­ester Hen­der­son at 248 while Owen J. Roberts fol­lowed with 223.5. Down­ing­town East fin­ished fourth with 220 team points fol­lowed by Methac­ton with 211.

As for the boys, Boy­er­town claimed first place with 310 team points while Perkiomen Val­ley (269), West Ch­ester Hen­der­son (213), West Ch­ester East (213) and SpringFord (186) rounded out the top five.

Boys

Pa­trick Lance was a four-event win­ner at the con­clu­sion of the Perk Val­ley In­vi­taional.

The Boy­er­town se­nior took top in­di­vid­ual hon­ors in the 100 fly (52.45) and the 100 free (47.91). He an­chored the 200 med­ley re­lay — which in­cluded Ivan Es­cott, Nolan Benner and Owen Miller — which fin­ished up at 1:39.17. The Bears also took top hon­ors in the 400 free re­lay (3:15.82), which in­cluded Es­cott, Oliver Tye, Miller and Lance.

In­di­vid­u­ally, Es­cott was first in the 200 IM (1:59.37). Else­where from the PAC, Perkiomen Val­ley’s Ryan Keenan topped the 200 free (1:48.40) and the 500 free (4:57.07) while Up­per Me­rion’s Ai­dan McNally took top hon­ors in the 50 free (22.30). Spring-Ford’s Car­son Huff touched first in the 100 back (54.40).

Girls

Phoenixville came within .08 of a sec­ond of their pool record time in the 200 free re­lay with a 1:38.68. Kathryn Bland swam the first leg, while Katya Ha­yard, Emily Fabius and Mad­die Cooke rounded out the con­tin­gent. The group also claimed sec­ond in the 200 med­ley re­lay with a 1:48.41.

Other top fin­ish­ers from the Pioneer Ath­letic Con­fer­ence in­cluded Emily Sykes’ 2:07.43 in the 200 in­di­vid­ual med­ley. Owen J. Roberts’ Lau­rel Fink posted a 59.71 the 100 fly, just ahead of Fabius at 59.89. Boy­er­town’s Cara Megill took top hon­ors in the 500 free (5:14.75).
