12th annual Wellness Fair this Saturday.

Event to feature more than 40 vendors

The Wellness Council of Boyertown and the Boyertown Multiservi­ce have partnered to sponsor the 12th annual Wellness Fair, a free family event for all ages to be held on Saturday, March 18, at Boyertown Junior High West, 380 South Madison Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some of the free family activities available to fair goers include the Kids Celebrity Chef Healthy Cooking Competitio­n, Pure Fun Entertainm­ent DJ, Max’s Moon Bounce, basketball fun, a youth obstacle course, and numerous great door prizes. Rita’s Water Ice of Boyertown will also be on hand serving free water ice.

This year we are launching our pilot program the morning of the Wellness Fair– wellness for our First Responders – 20 of Boyertown areas finest firefighte­rs will participat­e in an overall wellness program to help keep them active both physically and mentally. The pilot offering consists of a 90 day membership at Crossfit Fidelity gym, nutrition classes, and a Mental Health-First Aid USA an in depth one day training of how to help people cope with a mental health response call.

Over 600 local community members looking to improve and support their individual wellness goals attend the Wellness Fair annually. In addition to the more than 40 vendors, live wellness demonstrat­ions for karate, senior walking bingo, nutritious snacking, and a smoking cessation presentati­on.

The Fair will also play host to both the “Running of the Bears” elementary school walk/run lap competitio­n 9:30-10:30 a.m. and the “Kids Celebrity Chef” healthy cooking competitio­n cook-off and community judging from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
