Support for Boyertown High School policies

I have a close relative who is transgendered. He is a kind, decent, hard-working man. His fondest wish is to live an ordinary life like you and me without public scrutiny. It is heartbreaking to my family that he has to worry about his physical safety every time he leaves his house, and we worry that someday he may be the victim of the open bigotry that has become so prevalent since the Trump administration took office. Unfortunately the effect of the election has been to empower the type of bully we see in the Joe Doe lawsuit against Boyertown Senior High School. I am writing to express my support for BSH and its “hate has no home here” policies. Teaching our young people to be tolerant and respectful of others is an important task. This lawsuit highlights how far we still have to go to become an inclusive society.
