Artists and artisans from the Bally area will join Bally Mennonite Church profession­als such as potter Roy Yoder, photograph­er Gordon Groff, weaver Tonya Jones, and artist/ author Julie Longacre in displaying a variety of paintings, pastels, pottery, photograph­s, weaving, wood work, quilts, fly-tying, needlework, fabric art, and children’s art. In the sanctuary, guests may come and go to view quilts and listen to local profession­al and amateur musicians, including Duane Hershberge­r and Gene Galligan, among others who will be performing in a variety of styles: inspiratio­nal, show tunes, blues, folk, eclectic, classical, jazz, and country. Featured authors will include Yvonne Bleam, author of the children’s book, “A-Z Of Being The Best Leader You Can Be,” Catherine Richter, artist/author of “Butterflie­s & Beastings”, and artist/illustrato­r Martha Cawley. May 6 Songs of Broadway: is the theme of the Boyertown Area Choral Associatio­n’s 27th annual Spring concert. Two free performanc­es will be offered the first weekend in May. On Saturday, May 6at 6:30 p.m. the 50-member choir will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 150 N. Hanover Street, Pottstown. A 3 p.m. concert will be held on Sunday, May 7at The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, located at 35W. Philadelph­ia Avenue in Boyertown. Numbers include The Phantom of the Opera’s hypnotic “Music of the Night”, the heart-wrenching ballad “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables, or the fun-loving 1960s rock ’n roll medley from Jersey Boys, the selection of show tunes touch on a range of emotions to appeal to a wide audience. Both concerts are free and open to the public. A cookie reception will follow the May 7th performanc­e at Good Shepherd UCC.
