Zebrowski keeps supervisor seat in GOP primary
NEW HANOVER >> Incumbent Township Supervisor Kurt Zebrowski appears to have beaten back a challenge from Brian Hemingway in the Republican primary election last week.
Hemingway is a member of the New Hanover Sewer Authority Board and Zebrwoski is a member of the township planning commission.
A mere 30-vote margin out of 746 cast gave Zebrowski the victory he needed to finish the two years left on the term to which he was appointed in July to replace Ralph Fluharty.
According to unofficial results, Zebrowski won 388 votes to the 358 won by Hemingway.
Officially, there was no contest for the other two seats on the board, each with a six-year term.
Unofficial results gave William “Ross” Snook 501 votes and Shawn Malloy 372.
Not appearing on the ballot was incumbent Marie Livelsberger, who was removed from the ballot in March due to a filing error — an error also made by Malloy but about which no official complaint was filed.
However, Livelsberger mounted a write-in campaign and was a running mate with Snook and Zebrowski.
Early Montgomery County election results did not indicate how many write-in votes were registered.
There are no Democratic candidates filed to run in November.
