Studio B Fine Art Gallery, 39A East Philadelphia Avenue in Boyertown announces the opening of “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs” on Saturday, June 10, as part of the Philadelphia Avenue Street Fair. The Street Fair runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. Prizes for the exhibit are courtesy of corporate sponsor Gateway Ticketing. Proceeds from the exhibit will be donated to The Animal Rescue League (ARL).

“Dogs and cats are part of our lives,” explains Pamela Hodges, fine artist, writer, and curator for the exhibit. “They love us unconditionally and help us navigate a world where we can feel isolated.”

“We are grateful to Kelly and Michael Andre of Gateway Ticketing who are supporting our efforts to assist the animals who need our help,” she continued.

“And we are looking forward to having some fun throughout the day,” added Hodges. “Art activities are planned for inside and outside of Studio B. Repre- sentatives from the Ani- mal Rescue League will be bringing information about their mission and an animal available for adoption. Come join us to celebrate the amazing artwork of our artists, the cats and dogs in our lives, and the artists who love them.”

While the title of the exhibit focuses on cats and dogs in order to announce its fundraising effort for the ARL and prizes will be awarded to works featuring dogs and cats, the show invites artists to submit work in all media, any genre, and any subject. “Raining Cats and Dogs” is a open-themed exhibit.

In addition to the “Best Cat” and “Best Dog” awards, a special “People’s Choice Award” will be offered to the artist whose work receives the most votes throughout the summer. Tickets to vote are $1, or 6 tickets for $5. All proceeds from voting will be donated to the Animal Rescue League.

An end-of-summer Award Reception will be held on Friday, Aug. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. when the “People’s Choice Awards” and Best Dog and Best Cat in show awards will be announced.
