The Center at Spring Street now cel­e­brat­ing Na­tional Se­nior Center Month

The Center at Spring Street, a pro­gram of Boyertown Area Multi-Ser­vice, 200 West Spring Street, Boyertown, PA, will cel­e­brate Na­tional Se­nior Center Month by show­cas­ing its beau­ti­ful fa­cil­ity, valu­able pro­grams, and de­li­cious, hot and nu­tri­tious meals pre­pared on­site. We en­cour­age all adults age 55 and over to come and ex­pe­ri­ence the ac­tiv­i­ties and ser­vices the Center has to of­fer and learn of the Center’s pos­i­tive im­pact on the lives of those who live in the greater Boyertown area.

The Center is open from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Mon­day through Fri­day. Bus trans­porta­tion to and from the Center is avail­able for those se­niors un­able to drive. There is a min­i­mal fee for trans­porta­tion. For more in­for­ma­tion, please call the Center at 610-367-2313.

On a daily ba­sis, card play­ers are typ­i­cally present and wel­come new play­ers. Shuf­fle­board and pool ta­bles are avail­able for use. Our Com­puter Room is open each day for mem­ber use. A wide va­ri­ety of books may be bor­rowed from our Re­source Center. Each week ex­er­cise classes are avail­able for all fit­ness lev­els free of charge.

We host Hasenpf­ef­fer and Pinochle card par­ties, Wii Bowl­ing, Golden Texas Hold ‘Em, Bean Bag Base­ball and Shuf­fle­board Tour­na­ments once a month. Blood pres­sure and weight screen­ings are held twice a month, made pos­si­ble by staff from Ch­est­nut Knoll and Bayada Hospice.

A hot lunch is served daily and is shared around ta­bles with other mem­bers and guests.

Please call two days in ad­vance to make a lunch reser­va­tion. The hot lunch is avail­able for a $2.50 anony­mous do­na­tion.

Mon­day, Sept. 25 at 1:00 PM – Michael Kropp, Mu­sic from the 50’s-70’s, Gui­tarist & Vo­cal­ist

Evening pro­grams include a monthly Fri­day Nite Dance as well as Bingo Nite ev­ery other Tues­day evening. In­ter­gen­er­a­tional pro­grams are hosted at the Center for a va­ri­ety of ac­tiv­i­ties and are open to the com­mu­nity.

The Center is also work­ing to pro­vide pro­grams that are not lim­ited to our Spring Street lo­ca­tion. Th­ese new pro­grams will aug­ment the health and fit­ness pro­grams al­ready of­fered at our fa­cil­ity, by open­ing us up to the out­doors. The goal is to not only of­fer out­door op­por­tu­ni­ties for re­cre­ation, but to also build com­mu­nity through th­ese shared in­ter­ests. Be­low are some of the up­com­ing out­door meet ups.
