‘Fourth Friday Art Walk’ coming up

Event to feature vintage DJ Black Jack Shellac

Get your walking shoes on and come visit historic Boyertown for our Fourth Friday Art Walk. The downtown merchants will provide you and your family with great art, music and food from 5-8 p.m. at many different venues on Friday, Sept. 22.

This is your opportunit­y to see the amazing and unique things that Boyertown’s small businesses and local artisans have to offer.

This month The Peppermint Stick Candy Store will feature vintage DJ, Black Jack Shellac spinning old records on two hand-cranked decks and Patsy’s Potpourri of Gifts will host acoustic guitarist, Ray Sam with 20% off his band CD’s. Some of the other participat­ing artists and venues include: youth artist, Xander Irwin at Jay’s Barber Shop, artist, Pamela Hodges at Studio B will demonstrat­e how to create coloring pages, and Dancing Tree Creations Artisans’ Gallery & Studio will have Rachel Bodnar displaying her drawings, paintings,

photograph­s and more. The Wellness Council of Boyertown joins us this month with a Bear Walk and Fitness Challenge that will be lots of fun for the kids. Also, the Boyertown Community Library will feature local artist,

Jason Quay who designed the mural in the Children’s section. Jason will assist children that attend to place their painted handprints on the mural. These will then be turned into flowers, butterflie­s, and other special effects on the mural. Spirit Holistic Center will have drop in coloring Meditation with Mellis Hamilton. Boyertown Historical Society will host sea glass jewelry artist, Mona Gincley and Modellbahn Ott Hobbies, Inc. will present Brad Kramer of Valhalla Miniature Studios. Please join us for a great evening.

Maps can be picked up at the Informatio­n Kiosk in the Train Yard on Philadelph­ia Avenue and also at each venue. Our Fourth Friday’s are very family oriented and provides lots of fun on a Friday night.
