Boyertown field hockey ends regular season with flourish

BOYERTOWN 7, NORRISTOWN 0 » Ashley Dierolf, Cassie Kidwell and Jennifer O’Connor each scored pairs of goals to key the Bears’ PAC Liberty Division victory over the Eagles on Oct. 12. Sydney Fox completed the Boyertown point production. Haley Gable and Hailey Levengood shared time in goal for the Bears, each making pairs of saves to secure the shutout.

METHACTON 3, BOYERTOWN

1» After dropping the opening set, the Warriors claimed the final three sets en route to a PAC win over the Bears on Oct. 13.

Boyertown won the opening set 25-20 before Methacton rattled off the next three by scores of 26-24, 2519 and 25-10. Andrea Castaneda had nine digs, eight kills and a pair of aces while Carli Ginther had 26 digs and two aces. Emma Eglinton had 32 assists, five digs, a pair of blocks and an ace while Hannah O’Donnell had 11 digs, a pair of aces and two kills.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 3, BOYERTOWN 1 » The Vikings celebrated their Senior Night with a PAC victory over the Bears on Oct. 11.

PV answered Boyertown’s 25-23 victory in the first set with scores of 2522, 25-11 and 25-22. The Vikes were led by seniors Helena Clauhs (17 kills, nine digs) and Ellie Min (32 assists, 10 digs). Other seniors contributi­ng were Rachel Rood (seven kills), Jess Oltman (two kills, eight digs, two aces) and Kyle Pelzer (three kills, two digs).

BOYERTOWN 4, NORRISTOWN

0» Ben Burkhardt scored the Bears’ last two goals to cap their PAC Liberty Division game with the Eagles on Oct. 12.

Jimmy Towers got Boyertown going by converting a penalty kick in the first half. Connor Reiss scored in the second half in advance of Burkhardt’s tallies, and Mason Kurtz needed to make just four saves to secure the clean sheet.

BOYERTOWN 0, SPRING-FORD

0» The Bears and Rams went through regulation and two overtimes but were unable to score in this PAC Liberty Division game on Oct. 10.

Spring-Ford answered Boyertown’s 9-3 edge in shots on goal with a nine save effort by Hunter Hudak. Mason Kurtz made three stops in the Boyertown nets.

Girls soccer

BOYERTOWN 8, NORRISTOWN

0» Kylie Torrens scored twice, and Kylie Webb figured in on two goals to help the Bears roll over the Eagles in PAC Liberty Division play on Oct. 12.

Webb (one assist), Grace Conover, Kaleigh Gallagher, Mackenzie Fatzinger, Cassidy Landis and Mattie Gallagher also scored for Boyertown. Adrianna Sheridan was credited with an assist.

Boys cross country

BOYERTOWN 15, NORRISTOWN 50 » Justin Smyth and Josh Endy led the Bears’ sweep of the first 10 places en route to a PAC Liberty Division run over the Eagles on Oct. 11.

Smyth and Endy went 1-2 for Boyertown, both clocked at an impressive 18:07 for their finishing time. Norristown’s top finisher was Ricarddo Moreno Alvarez, 11th in 19:06.

BOYERTOWN 15, NORRISTOWN

50 » The Bears took the first 10 spots in the finishing order to secure a win over the Eagles in their PAC Liberty Division meet on Oct. 11.

Amanda Murray and Zora Bergey, both clocked at 22:36, went 1-2 for Boyertown. Valeria Sanchez Vargas was Norristown’s top finisher, coming in 11th place overall with a finishing time of 25:21.
