Jan. 15 AARP: New Hanover AARP meets at the New Hanover Lutheran Church, Lutheran Road, Gilbertsville. Optional social time with a bring-your-own bag lunch (beverage and desserts provided) is at 12:00. Entertainment will be provided by Ventriloquist Scott Wagstaff. Meeting is at 12:45 p.m. All those age 50 and older are invited to attend. Jan 18 Lions Club: The Boyertown Lions Club will hold their dinner meeting at the Friendship Hook& Ladder Co., S Reading Ave & Warwick St., Boyertown at 6:30 p.m. Drew Fitzpatrick, Kyle Williams & Anna Lottes from Campability will be our guest speakers. Jan. 21 Sunday History talks with Bob Wood: To be held at Studio B, 39A East Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown. 1-2 p.m. On Jan. 21, the focus will be “The History of Stahl Pottery” — Presented and illustrated by Jeff Rhoads of Rhoads House Antiques, Lobachsville. Jeff has a sizeable collection of Stahl pottery.
Purse bingo: Boyertown Lions Club to host Vera Bradley Purses & Longaberger Baskets Bingo from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Keystone Fire Co., N. Walnut Street. Doors open at 1 p.m. Play starts at 2 p.m. $20 admission. You receive 20 games of bingo. Additional special games may be purchased. Door prizes. Refreshments will be sold. We are currently accepting registrations for the Winter Play & Learn class for 2 year olds. There are also openings available for the current school year in the 3 and 4 year old classes.
