Berks County 4-H Horse Club hosts annual banquet
The Berks County 4-H Horse members held their horse banquet recently and were recognized for their participation and achievements in the horse program for 2017.
A highlight to the evening was the announcement of the 2017 Berks County Outstanding Horse Members. All 4-H horse club members have an opportunity to fill out an application on their accomplishments and participation in 4-H events for the past year. These forms get judge on an overall participation of 4-H events. The winners were:
Rookie of the Year: Maisy Funk and Gwyneth Youells both from Rocky Mountain Riders 4-H Club
Junior Division (8-12): Champion, Andrew Long from Berks Saddle-ites 4-H Horse Club; Reserve Champion, Tyerney Lewis from the Blue Ribbon Riders 4-H Horse Club
Intermediate Division (13-15): Champion, Megan Vance from the Blue Ribbon Riders 4-H Club; Reserve Champion, Grace Mayberry from Ride For Pride 4-H Horse Club
Senior Division (16+): Champion, Merdena Twaddell from the Ride For Pride 4-H Horse Club; Reserve Champion, Daphne Smith from Rocky Mountain Riders 4-H Club
Honorable Mention Spirit of 4-H Awards: Ashlynn Scheirer and Alexis Scheirer both from Rocky Mountain Riders 4-H Horse Club; Lindsay Diffendal, Ava Fedak, Caitlin Diffendal and Jenna Tyson all from Ride For Pride 4-H Horse Club.

Participation in the PA 4-H Junior Championship Show as an exhibitor this past July: Noemi Bender, Grace Mayberry, Daniel Twaddell, Merdena Twaddell, and Chloe Sullivan
Participation in the PA State 4-H Horse Show as an exhibitor this past October: Noemi Bender, Ava Fedak, Grace Mayberry, Lucas Moyer, Alexis Scheirer, Chloe Sullivan, Quinn Sullivan, Lilly Sutch, Olivia Thiel, Jenna Tyson and Megan Vance.
