Shepherd of the Hills Church, Bechtelsvi­lle

Cub Pack #291 will hold an Arrow of Light ceremony on Feb. 15, 7 p.m. in the church parlor.

Boy Scouts meet Monday at 7 p.m. Cub Scouts meet Thursday at 7 p.m. AA groups meet at the church on Wednesdays at 8 p.m., Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. Al Anon meets in the church on Tuesdays at 8 p.m.

St. Luke Lutheran Church

Sunday’s activities begin at 8:30 with the Adult Sunday School Class. Come and join in the educationa­l, fun, and lively discussion­s!

Then, join us Sunday for our 9:30 a.m. service for the first Sunday in Lent. Holy Communion will be celebrated. The theme of the service, and focus of the message by Pastor Mary Ann Siefke is “Hem of his Cloak.” The Sr. Choir will sing, “My Song is Love Unknown,” by Jennings. A special welcome to Linc Noecker, our guest musician, as our Music Director enjoys a weekend off.

Also, during the service, a special litany of Thanksgivi­ng, Retirement and Blessing will be shared as we wish our Sexton/Custodian, Dale Shaner, well upon his retirement.

Following worship, all are invited to Memorial Hall for a time of fellowship and thanks to Dale Shaner, our sexton/custodian for eighteen years. Dale has “really retired,” and this is our time to say “Thank you” for all he has done and given to our church.

The Church Office is closed on Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day.

On Tuesday, the Cherub Choir will meet at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Senior Breakfast Group will meet at 8 a.m. at Saville’s Restaurant. Come and join in the fun, food, and fellowship!

On Wednesday, the Community Clothing Rack will be open for clothing distributi­on from 1-4 p.m. This is a wonderful outreach ministry! On Wednesday evenings, join us for Soup Supper at 6 p.m. The handbell choir will rehearse at 6:30.

The midweek Lenten services begin on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and

the Sr. Choir will rehearse following the service. On this Wednesday evening, the theme of the worship will be “Bands of Cloth,” based on Luke 2:1-7.

The annual Women’s Retreat will be held Friday through Sunday.

Immediatel­y following the 10:15 a.m. service, there will be a Coffee Hour in the parlor to honor our Parish Musician, Joe DiCindio on his last day at the church.

The church office will be closed on Feb. 19 in observance of President’s Day. Monday, the Bell Choir will rehearse at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Senior Choir rehearsing at 7:30 p.m. On Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in the parlor, we will hold a midweek Lenten service. The theme of the Lent service that evening will be: Creation. Those serving at the mid-week Lent service are Lector; Sue Hoffman and Greeter/Ushers; Sue and Norman Hoffman. On Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m., the Junior and Cadette Girl Scout troops will meet in the social hall.
