Ethel H. (Aston) Matyasovsky, 84, of Gilbertsville

Ethel H. (Aston) Matyasovsky, 84, of Gilbertsville, wife of the late Michael F. Matyasovsky, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Thelma (Bender) Aston.

Ethel was a member of St. Columbkill’s RC Church. She was also an avid golfer and tennis player.

Surviving are daughters Karen M. Matyasovsky of the Poconos and Michele F. Smith of Pottstown; son Mark S. Matyasovsky, husband of Virginia, of Bechtelsville; sister Phyllis Hetrick of Oley; sisterin-law Elizabeth Aston of New Hanover; brothers John T. Aston of Gilbertsville and Robert Aston of Boyertown; grandchildren Stephanie Smith, Alexis Levengood, Carl Jay Smith Jr., and Casey Smith-Heatley wife of Shawn Heatley; and great grandchildren Hunter and Remi. She is predeceased by her brothers James and Walter Aston; sister-in-law Faith Aston; and brother-in-law Richard Hetrick.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 2, 11:00AM at St. Columbkill’s RC Church, 200 Indian Spring Rd, Boyertown, with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00AM to 10:45AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Ethel’s name to VNA of Pottstown Hospice, C/O Berks VNA, ATTN: Diane Lincoln, 1117 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610 or for scholarships to St. Francis Academy, 668 Pine St., Bally, PA 19503.
