Boyertown edges Perkiomen in slugfest, 19-12
They went to a baseball game, and batting practice broke out.
When Boyertown visited Perkiomen Post Sunday, their non-league contest was nowhere near a pitchers’ duel. The teams combined for 35 hits and 31 runs, with the Bears coming out on top at Upper Perkiomen, 19-12.
Every one of Boyertown’s 12 players coming to the plate either hit safely or scored at least once. Five had multiple-hit outings, and four plated two or three runs in the course of a nine-inning affair that saw the Bears erupt for 12 runs in the sixth inning to break open what had been a close (6-4 Bears) game to that point.
Sean Sutterby (3-for-7), Chase Mercon and Gavin Richards each had three RBI for Boyertown while Broc Babb added another pair. Pat Wieand had a 3-for-6 day at the plate, and Caleb Harrison (2-for4), Chris Davis and Tate Yergey (each 2-for-5) also swung hot bats.
Perkiomen’s offense was headed by Bryan Pijanowski, who drove in five runs off 4-for-6 hitting. Justin Wornham (3-for-4, three RBI), Logan Curley (3for-5, two RBI), Ryan Rossiter (3-for-5), Lance Templeton (2-for-3) and Trey Livingstone (2-for-6) were other key offensive performers for the hosts.

Tre Yesavage had 2 hits and 2RBI, and Tre Diguglielmo had two hits and an RBI for Boyertown, Tyler Hoffman (two RBI) and Ryan Maloney (one RBI) doubled as the Bear-Cubs (2-1, 5-2-1) brought the 10run rule into effect.
