WASHINGTON TWP. » State Police have identified the two people seriously injured in a July 13 crash on Route 100.

Police say Shaun M. Kramer, 34, of Boyertown, the driver of a 2002 Honda Odyssey, and Amber L. Frain, 32, of Boyertown, his passenger, were both injured in an accident that shut down parts of Route 100 for several hours.

According to a state police report, the crash occurred at 10:51 a.m. on Route 100 just north of Limekiln Road. Police say the Honda Odyssey had been travelling north on Route 100 when Kramer lost control of the vehicle.

Police said they suspect the Honda was travelling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the tractortrailer.

The Honda Odyssey crossed the fog line and struck the Peterbilt tractor-trailer that had been parked on the shoulder facing northbound traffic.

Neither Kramer nor Frain had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but both air bags in the Honda deployed on impact, according to authorities.

Both were freed from the vehicle by EMS and transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown with serious injuries.

The driver of the tractortrailer, identified as Matthew L. Martin, 28, of Manheim, Lancaster County, was not injured.

State police from the Reading barracks are investigating the crash.
