St. Luke Lutheran Church
35 WILSON AVE., GILBERTSVILLE
Join us at 9:30, a.m. on Sunday for worship. This is the 12th Sunday after Pentecost.
Communion will be celebrated, as we do every Sunday. On Sundays from now until Sept. 2, we will have “Bread Sundays.” Each week the Gospel focus is on Jesus as the Bread of Life. We will celebrate by featuring a liturgy with energetic and rhythmic world music. Our table will be spread with local wine and real bread.
Saturday is the brunch for new members, held from 9 – 11, a.m. at The Other Farm and Forge in Boyertown. Sunday is New Member Sunday. We welcome Donna Biehl to the fellowship of St. Luke.
On Sunday evening, St. Luke members will attend the Fightin Phils Game.
The Community Clothing Rack will be open Aug. 15 for distribution. During the summer, we are open from 9 a.m. to noon.
On Thursday, the Sr. Breakfast Group will meet for a picnic at St. Luke in Memorial Hall.
Christ Lutheran Church, Niantic

Worship with us on the 12th Sunday after Pentecost on Aug. 12 at our one service at 9 a.m. Bridge Pastor; Pastor David Penman will be leading the congregation in the worship service, preaching the morning sermon as well as presenting the Children’s Sermon. During the service, we will bless the quilts made by the quilters that will be going to Veterans. Those ministering at this 9 a.m. service are Acolyte; Emily Francisco, Lector; Holly Francisco, and Greeters/Ushers; Holly Francisco and Mike Appold. At 6:45 p.m. Sunday evening, the Evangelism committee is sponsoring their first “Did you Jesus Today?” event at the Moser Farm. We will hike/bike/ wagon ride to “Eden”.
On Aug. 14, the September Niantic News newsletter articles are due into the church office. Later that evening at 6:30 p.m., the Evangelism committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the parlor. Then the Finance committee will meet in room B at 7:30 p.m. Members will join the surrounding community at the KeystoneMiller blood drive that will be held on Aug. 16 from 2:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Calvary UCC, Rte. 100, Bechtelsville. On Aug. 17, the church office will be open from 10 a.m. to noon.
Trinity Lutheran Church

We are currently on our summer worship schedule, with worship each Sunday at 9AM. There will be no 8AM services or Sunday School during the month of August. We will return to our regular schedule on Sunday, Sept. 2. Aug. 12 is the 12th Sunday after Pentecost with 9 a.m. Worship Service. Trinity is taking a bus trip to see “Jesus” at Sight & Sound on Sept. 22. We’ll leave from church at 2:30, be back by 11. Dinner included. There is a charge. See Maddy Wyda.
