The second annual End of Summer Luau will be held on the church grounds on Sept. 15, from 4 - 7 p.m. The Allan Scott Band will be featured entertainment. There will be food and children’s activities.
Rally Day will be observed on Sept. 16. Adult and children’s Sunday school classes will reconvene at 9:15 a.m.
Boy Scouts meet Monday at 7 p.m. Cub Scouts meet Thursday at 7 p.m. AA groups meet at the church on Wednesdays at 8 p.m., Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. Al Anon meets in the church on Tuesdays at 8 p.m.

Trinity will be participating in the Boyertown Area CROP Walk on Oct. 7, 2 p.m., at the Center at Spring Street. The CROP Walk is a community event that raises money to fight hunger both here in Boyertown and around the world. To participate, talk to Pastor Gene or Kathy Farrington.

Worship with us on the 17th Sunday after Pentecost on Sept. 16, at our regular worship service times of 7:45 and 10:15 a.m. Bridge Pastor; Pastor David Penman will be leading the congregation in the worship service, preaching the morning sermon, as well as presenting the Children’s Sermon. Special music will be sung by Ava Novotny. Those ministering at the 7:45 a.m. service are Acolyte; OPEN, Lector; Terry Flicker, and Greeters/Ushers; Terry Flicker and Roy Hoffman. Those ministering at the 10:15 a.m. service are: Acolyte; Rebecca Johns, Lector; Karlene Novotny, and Greeters/Ushers; Brian and Cheryl Barr.
The Bell Choir will rehearse on Sept. 19 beginning at 6:45 p.m. followed by the Senior Choir rehearsing at 7:45 p.m. The Worship and Music committee invites members to come out on Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. to help them decorate for Harvest Home, which will be held on Sept. 23.
St. Luke Lutheran Church 35 WILSON AVE., GILBERTSVILLE
Our 8:30 a.m. Bible Study will be held Sunday. We will meet to explore the lectionary readings of the day.
Join us at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday for worship. This is the 17th Sunday after Pentecost. Communion will be celebrated.
JAM (Jesus and Me) class has resumed. Children are invited to experience the Bible through a fun and imaginative curriculum.
The Adult forum will begin Sunday following worship. On this particular Sunday, youth who participated in the ELCA Youth Gathering will make a presentation.
The Women’s Bible Study will meet at noon on Sunday.
Catechism class begins Sunday evening. The class will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Pottstown. The class has students from St. Luke, St. James, and Grace Lutheran Churches.
The Youth Choir will meet Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, the Sr. Breakfast Group will meet at Saville’s Diner at 8 a.m. Come and join the fun, food, and fellowship of this lively group!
The Community Clothing Rack will be open on Wednesday for clothing distribution. Please join this wonderful community ministry! We now return to our fall schedule being open from 1-4 p.m.
Handbell Choir will rehearse on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. The Sr. Choir will rehearse Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Our annual Blessing of the Pets will be held on Sept. 23 at 2 pm. We desire to open this time of blessing pets to the surrounding community and also to invite our neighbors to enjoy our walking path with their pets. As in the past, we will hold a collection for the Animal Rescue League of Berks County and offer treats available for the animals who are present. We hope to be able to offer blessings to dogs, cats, rabbits, lizards, birds, and whatever other pets God brings to our time of gathering. Please share the date and time of this pet blessing with your family, your friends, your neighbors, your colleagues so we can bless God’s beloved creatures.
