Artist Jonathan Bond scrambles eggs with paint at The Nesting Box
Bond uses Nesting Box eggs exclusively for his egg tempera paintings, a centuries-old form of painting that combines egg yolks, distilled water, natural earth pigments.
Kempton artist Jonathan Bond will be exhibiting some of his latest egg temperas and will be painting on site at The Nesting Box, 230 Snyder Road, Kempton.
The one-day event will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
More than a dozen recently created works will be on hand featuring diverse subject matter including landscapes, wildlife, and hens with chicks.
Jon uses Nesting Box eggs exclusively for his egg tempera paintings. Egg tempera is a centuries old form of painting that combines egg yolks, distilled water and natural earth pigments. Wooden panels coated with rabbit skin glue and white marble powder serve as the traditional painting support.
The Nesting Box Farm Market and Creamery is owned and operated by the Bauscher family on their rural Kempton farm. The market offers local products including eggs, chocolates, honey, breads, coffee, pastries, cheeses, fruit spreads, gift items, and the Bauschers’ very own handcrafted artisan ice creams.
