Charles Leland Taylor Jr., age 98, of Loysville, Pa., passed peacefully Saturday, August 3, 2019 at his home.

Born June 29, 1921 in Faribault, Minnesota, to the late Charles Leland Taylor Sr. and Selma Josephine Olson.

He was married to his wife of 74 years Verna (Burkepile) Taylor, whom he married March 30,1945 in Newport, Pennsylvan­ia.

Charles was a member of the United Steelworke­rs Of America, and life member of Friendship Hook and Ladder Company #1 in Boyertown, Pennsylvan­ia.

Charles had worked at American Metal Finishers where he worked 18 years (4 years fulltime). He also had worked for Boyertown Casket Factory for 38 years from 1948-1986. His favorite job was truck driving, but it was not suitable for raising a family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four daughters; Connie Tootle of Carlisle, Pennsylvan­ia, Bonnie Taylor of Reading, Pennsylvan­ia, Mary Cranford of Newnan, Georgia, and Linda Taylor of East Greenville, Pennsylvan­ia, and one son; Rodney Taylor of Temple, Pennsylvan­ia; 9 grandchild­ren, 6 great grandchild­ren, and 2 great great grandsons.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter; Virginia Taylor and a son Charles “Chuck” Taylor, 4 sisters; Caroline Rhoades, Marian Fry, Arlene “Sue” Rhoades, and Lilian Gussler, and 2 brothers; Rodney Taylor and Amos Taylor.

Family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am on Friday August 9, 2019 followed by a funeral service at 11 am held at The Church Of The Living Christ, Loysville, Pennsylvan­ia. Rev. Doran Wray will be officiatin­g the service. Interment will be in the Eshcol Cemetery, Millerstow­n, Pennsylvan­ia.
