Boyertown volleyball edges District 3 power Exeter in 5

Girls volleyball

BOYERTOWN 3, EXETER 2 >> The Bears finished their regular season Saturday with dramatic Senior Night win over undefeated and District 3 top-ranked Exeter. The Bears earned a five-set win by scores of 18-25, 27-25, 25-20, 18-25 and 15-13.

Bear standouts were Senior Emily Wolfe (13 kills, nine digs) Senior Julia Smith (27 digs) Emma Ludwig (19 assists, 11 digs) Adrianna Derstine (12 kills, five digs, three blocks), Jess Ahart (five kills, four digs).

BOYERTOWN 3, METHACTON 0 >> The Bears finished out the league portion of their schedule Thursday with a sweep of the visiting Warriors. Set scores were 25-18, 2514 and 25-12.

Having big nights for Boyertown were Emma Ludwig (14 assists, seven digs, four kills, three aces, three blocks), Emily Wolfe( (12 kills, four digs, three aces), Julia Smith (20 digs), Adrianna Derstine (five kills, two digs) and Jess Ahart (seven kills, three digs).

Boys soccer

BOYERTOWN 2, NORRISTOWN 0 >> Goals by Landon Wenger and Nick Willson fueled the Bears’ shutout of the Eagles Thursday, a win that clinched the PAC Liberty Division title for Boyertown (14-1-2).

Jacob Gross was credited with an assist for Boyertown, which will be the No. 1 seed for next Tuesday’s PAC semifinals, to be held at Owen J. Roberts.

Girls soccer

BOYERTOWN 4, DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 2 >> Samantha Devlin’s two goals carried the Bears in their non-league win over Downingtow­n West on Friday.

Karli Sheahan and Kayley Mattis also tallied goals for Boyertown. Samantha Goffice had two assists for the Bears, and Camilla Kuever and Mikayla Moyer both added one as well. Goalkeeper Madison Gallagher made five saves.

BOYERTOWN 7, NORRISTOWN 2 >> Samantha Devlin’s hat trick led the way for the Bears in their PAC Frontier victory on Thursday. Samantha Goffice, Camilla Kuever, Emma Beidler, and Janinna Jaronski also scored in the win.

Norristown’s Jane Baker scored twice in the effort.

Field Hockey

BOYERTOWN 6, NORRISTOWN 0 >> Lauren Eves’ two-goal showing helped the Bears roll over the Eagles in Thursday’s PAC Liberty Division game.

Katelyn Dulin, Alyx Morgan, Kiersten Prosock and Emily Baro also scored for Boyertown, which had Laura Wigand and Hailey Levengood share goalie duties.

OLEY VALLEY 9, BOYERTOWN 0 >> Scoring seven times in the first half Wednesday, the Lynx set a fast pace in their non-league game with the Bears.

Laura Wigand and Hailey Levengood shared goaltendin­g duties for Boyertown. Wigand had 12 saves, and Levengood four, against a combined 25 shots.
