Beaming with pride, three new prosecutors took oaths of office as their friends and family looked on in Montgomery County Court.

“This is a very exciting day. You should all be proud of the hard work that has brought you here today,” county Judge Todd D. Eisenberg said as he administered oaths of office to Marissa Booth, Danton Moyer and Gabriella Glenning. “You have all been given a great opportunity here. Do well.”

Moyer, of Boyertown, Glenning, of Cinnaminson, N.J., and Booth, of Nicholson, Wyoming County, accepted their prosecutorial badges from District Attorney Kevin R. Steele shortly after taking their oaths as lawyers and prosecutors.

“This is a symbol, a really important one,” Steele said as he presented the law enforcement badges to the trio. “We have to earn this badge every single day…by making a difference in people’s lives.

“We’re involved in this really special job where we get to make a difference in people’s lives. We operate by fairly simple marching orders, doing the right thing. That’s not always easy and it takes courage to do that and I have no doubt in my mind that the three of you are up to the task,” Steele added.

“I’m just so proud of the three of you, who were waiting for those (Bar exam) results to come back,” continued Steele, recalling “the screams” of joy that erupted in the office among colleagues when word came the three had passed “the little test they took.”

Steele said he looks forward to witnessing the “great things” Moyer, Booth and Glenning accomplish as prosecutors.

In August 2018, Moyer and Booth participated in the district attorney’s 18th annual summer intern mock trial competition for second-year law students. Moyer, who attended Temple University Beasley School of Law, was one of the winners of the competition and Booth, from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, took second place.

During the competition, the law students prosecuted a variation of a real trial with added legal hurdles and factual inconsistencies to create difficulty in the case.
