63 Berks students take home medals

Next stop is the state competitio­n in April

Sixty-three Berks County high school students took home medals recently in SkillsUSA district competitio­ns.

SkillsUSA is a national membership associatio­n serving high school, college and middle school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupation­s. The organizati­on holds annual competitio­ns where students can show off their talents.

Forty-three students from Berks Career & Technology Center and 20 from Reading-Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center placed in district competitio­ns held in January and earlier this month. Winners at the district level earn a chance to move on to the state competitio­n, held in Hershey April 15-17.
