Holiday excursions return to Colebrookdale Railroad
On the heels of a successful reopening this fall, Colebrookdale Railroad has announced its holiday excursions began Nov. 20 and running every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 20.
Despite the pandemic challenges of 2020, the Colebrookdale Railroad’s trains were rated the No. 2 Best Scenic Railroad in North America by USA Today and rated in the top 10 percent of attractions worldwide by TripAdvisor in 2020.
“While virus restrictions require the experience to be slightly different this year, passengers will still be able to enjoy one of the most magical experiences in our region,” said Nathaniel Guest, executive director of the railroad. “Our al a carte selection of local fare including holiday specialties and seasonal beverages will highlight each train.”
“The Secret Valley is second-to-none in Pennsylvania and the railroad is the coolest way to see it,” said Guest, referring to the rail excursion from Boyertown to Pottstown.
The Railroad’s awardwinning Santa’s Polar Bear Express Trains and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas Trains are being reworked this year to be both virus-conscious and kidapproved. Santa will be stationed on our open car where children can visit with him as well as give him their “wish list.”
Complimentary hot cocoa and a cookie will be given to all passengers and all children will be gifted a small keepsake item.
Colebrookdale Railroad will also be offering a farewell to the year with Snowflake Specials available everyday from Dec. 26 through Dec. 31.
