Patricia Breidenbach Fedor

-

Patricia Breidenbach Fedor, age 92, passed peacefully on February 10, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Karen Fedor, with whom she resided. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Edward, and is survived by her children, Karen Fedor, widow of Ken Nihart; Gretchen, wife of Stephen Falken; Susan, wife of Keith Pengelly; and Fabian, wife of Donald Smith, as well as three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was a daughter of Royden and Frances (Shadell) Breidenbach, and is survived by her brother, John Breidenbach. Two sisters, Audrey Miller and Mary (Wilkey) Green predeceased her.

A graduate of Wyoming Seminary in Wilkes Barre and American University in Washington, D.C., Patricia taught 5th grade at Lincoln Elementary School in Boyertown until she began-raising her family.

Patricia was a founding member of the Boyertown Area Historical Society, where she continued throughout her life to serve as Director Emeritus. During her tenure there she helped create the annual Belsnickle Craft Show and also co-authored Boyertown Area Cookery, a cookbook published by the Society in 1978.

In 1966, Patricia began a 30-year career as an emergency dispatcher for the Borough of Boyertown and surrounding municipalities. She also served as secretary of the Boyertown Zoning Board and was a judge for the Boyertown Times Spelling Bee. Patricia established a Bed and Breakfast reservation service in the late 1980’s, before the internet or Air B&B even existed!

An avid reader and history buff, Patricia also loved to travel, especially by boat and railway. She was a member of the Berks Calligraphy Guild, and pursued many other wide-ranging interests--for instance, she was an accomplished cook, gardener, woodworker and seamstress.

Services will be private for the family, so in lieu of flowers we invite you to kindly consider a donation in Patricia’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz. org. We also wish to pay special tribute to Compassus Hospice, especially Joanne, who served our family so graciously in these past several months.
