Diguglielm­o, Bears rout OJR, 62-42

Boys basketball BOYERTOWN 62, OWEN J. ROBERTS 42 »

Tre Diguglielm­o hit the nets for a game-high 28 points, and the Bears (3-3, 1-3 PAC Liberty) rode a big first-quarter lead to victory over the Wildcats (2-4, 1-4 PAC Liberty) in Friday’s PAC Liberty Division matchup.

Diguglielm­o got 16 of his counters in Boyertown’s 26-point opening frame. David Leh added another 10 points to help the Bears go ahead 44-20 at the half.

Chase Johnson and Sam Cerimele were OJR’s leading scorers with 11 and 10 points, respective­ly.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 49, BOYERTOWN 36 » Outscoring the Bears 35-14 in the middle frames, the Wildcats recovered from a slow start to win this PAC Liberty Division pairing Friday.

Avery White collected a gamehigh 27 points for Owen J (5-5, 2-4), which came out of the first quarter down 8-4. Olivia Hannum kicked in with another 10, matching the total of Boyertown (3-6, 1-5) scoring leader Ashley Kapp.

METHACTON 94, BOYERTOWN 80 » Tommy Gibbs won two individual events Wednesday to lead the Warriors in their PAC meet with the Bears.

Gibbs took the 50 free (22.49) and 100 fly (52.80), in addition to swimming a leg of Methacton’s winning 400 free relay (3:17.12). Boyertown’s firsts were scored by Tarry in the 200 IM (2:08.96), Connor Stoudt in the 500 free (5:28.09) and Noah Vivian in the 100 breast (1:02.87).

METHACTON 104, BOYERTOWN 69 » Madison Wimmer won a pair of individual races to key the Warriors’ victory over the Bears in Wednesday’s PAC meet.

Wimmer scored her firsts sin the 200 free (2:03.90) and 500 free (5:32.01), and she swam the anchor leg on Methacton’s winning 400 free relay (4:06.31). Gabby McKee and Angie Nelson were Boyertown’s stars, each winning two races — McKee the 200 IM (2:14.54) and 100 free (55.54), Nelson the 50 free (26.65) and 100 breast (1;12.07) — while swimming legs of the Bears’ firstplace 200 medley (1:59.74) and 200 free relay (1:48.55).
