Players to watch: Colin Eisenhard (3B, .317BA, team-high 28walks), Nathan Fox (P, .364 BA, 3-1, 1.53 ERA), Evan Hetrick (OF), Tyler Hoffman (OF), Cole Kratz (CF, .377BA, team-high 26hits), Luke Moser (2B, .308 BA), Peyton Moyer (SS), Jon Myers (C), Zach Rothermel (P), Brandon Shane (1B, .287BA, team-high 21RBI).

Outlook: Boyertown will be the host team for the 2022 Pa. State Tournament . ... The Bears are off to a 6-1start in Berks County play . ... “We’re gonna be ok as long as we do the little things correctly,” Konnick said. “Our goal is to finish first, then win our way to the state tournament.”

DANIEL BOONE MAVRIKS

Manager: Bruce Uba fifth season. Last years record: 3-15-1

Players to Watch: Nate DeBusi (SS), Dylan Gass (P-Util) Conor McGough (C), Eli Rhoda (P-IF), Dylan Schueler (P-OF), Mason Walter (IF).

Outlook: Rhoda (1.73 ERA) and Schueler (five wins) had solid performanc­es during the high-school season . ... “The team should be decent,” Uba said. “If they can stay together and play together as a team and the bats get hot on offense and stay hot we should do fairly well this season.”

NORCHESTER BULLDOGS

Manager: Alex Condello, second season.

Last year’s record: 25-10Berks County League, 28-15-2 overall.

Players to Watch: Jarred Berish (P), Shay Geib (P), Alex Lobello (P), Aaron Kirby (OF), Kyle O’Connor (OF), Ethan Sabatino (2B), Blaine Waltimyer (IF), Zach Santise (OF).

Outlook: Condello will be assisted by Brad Kirby and Corey Hennessey . ... Norchester has started Berks play 3-0 after a delayed schedule due to the Owen J. Roberts High team’s extended post-season run . ... The Bulldogs got Condello’s first (non-COVID impacted) season off to a rousing start by claiming championsh­ips in the Berks, Pa. Region two and Pa. State tournament­s in 2021 . ... “We are looking to build off of last year’s success with a core group of returning players and some new players this year,” Condello said. “We want to be competitiv­e in the Berks League again, and know that this league is always a challenge.”

PERKIOMEN POST

Manager: Logan Curley, first season.

Outlook: Curley takes over the Perkiomen program from Mike Fitzgerald, who headed it for eight seasons . ... The team has gotten off to a 3-0start in the Bux-Mont League, 4-1overall . ... ”We have 14guys on the roster. Seven of them are returning from last year, and three are coming back from a year at college this past spring,” Curley said. “Expectatio­ns for this season are to go out there and battle every game and see what we can do. If we throw strikes and play well on defense, then this team has great potential.”

SPRING CITY RED SOX

Manager; Nick Rakowski, first year.

Last Year’s Record: 15-2 Chester County League, 17-5 overall.

Players to Watch: Nick Cagliola (SS-OF, .538BA, 16RBI, 25runs), Mike deHaan (PIF), Ryan Garvey (OF), Scott Renk (P-1B), Garrett Wible, (P, 2-0, 1.68ERA).

Outlook: Rakowski takes over the program from Mike Gancasz, who headed it for eight seasons . ... The Sox went 1-2in Pa. Region Three tournament they hosted last summer. ... “We look forward to being competitiv­e in the always tough Chester County League. We have a large group of younger players, most of which were on the 2021 Spring City Youth team that made the State Championsh­ip tourney last year, but we also have a good group of returning veteran players that have playoff/regional experience and will provide leadership for the rest of the team. We’ll go as far as our pitching will take us.”
