It was 1932 when Walter E. Spotts, a Berks County native, started his own practice Spotts, Engineering Associates, Inc. The business prospered with many local municipalities engaging Mr. Spotts as Borough or Township Engineer. Years later, he joined a firm of environmental engineers founded by Lewis J. McCoy, Sr. in 1967. The resulting firm became Spotts, Stevens and McCoy (SSM).

Today, SSM continues to live the purpose of our founders – to make the world a better place. We solve problems that touch everyday life. From the water you drink, to the air you breathe, to the buildings and communities where you live, work, and play.
