International dance artist, Michelle Jones Wurtz, has been the director and owner of the Pottstown Dance for over 22 years. The school is currently celebrating 60 years of teaching quality dance to the Tri-County area and Michelle has many plans to honor the event. On April 20 and 21, the Repertory Ensemble will perform at Theatre Horizon in Norristown. There will be a multi-media piece set to the world famous “New World Symphony” by Dvorak, as well as Irish Dance, African Dance, a very “trippy” blacklight piece, and a Gospel work any church would love. All of the choreography (75 full minutes of dance) is credited to Ms. Wurtz.

Michelle also teaches and choreographs internationally, and she gives her students the opportunity to travel with her. Her students have performed in Poland, in London during the 2012 Olympics, and she plans on bringing dancers with her to Rome, Italy in 2024. She believes dance is the universal language and that everyone can do it.

The school is currently accepting registrations for the summer program which includes four different day camps and various evening classes for dancers of numerous ages and ability levels. Also, tickets are available for the April performance, “Dance Around the Globe”, which will include some guest artistry from the professional dance troupe, Melange Contemporary Dance (also directed by Ms., Wurtz).
