Campbell holds holiday events with bells on

- By Anne Gelhaus agelhaus@ bayareanewsgroup.com

The holidays are back on in the South Bay, and Campbell is no exception. While COVID-19 protocols are still in place, many events that were canceled or held virtually last year are back on. So, deck the halls, gather with loved ones and celebrate.

Ainsley House Teas

Residents can don their holiday best and enjoy an early afternoon tea sitting at Campbell’s historic Ainsley House. In addition to a special Ainsley House tea blend, there’s sparkling cider or champagne, and an assortment of finger sandwiches and desserts. Afterward, visitors can browse the holiday boutique and take a self-guided tour of the Ainsley House, which will be decorated for the holidays by local designers and organizations.

The Holiday Tea and Tours are a fundraiser for the Campbell Museums. Teas are set for noon-2 p.m. on Dec. 2-5 and 9-12 at the Ainsley House, 300 Grant St. Tickets are $50 for museum members and $60 for non-members at https://www.campbellmuseums.com/shop.

Storytime with Santa

Santa Claus will take time out of his busy holiday schedule to visit the Campbell Community Center, 1 W. Campbell Ave., on Dec. 3-4 and read a holiday story to children and their parents or guardians. The jolly old elf will hand around afterward for photo ops.

Story times are 6:30-7 p.m. for families with children under age 2 and 7-8:30 p.m. for children ages 2-12. Registration is $16-26 at www.campbellca. gov/santa.

Holiday Craft Market

The Campbell Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Holiday Craft Market Dec. 11-12 at the Pruneyard, where numerous local arts and crafts vendors will have their wares on display.

The market will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Pruneyard parking lot at East Campbell and Union avenues, near the Highway 17 overpass.
