Three weeks before “Pretty Woman: The Musical” opens in downtown San Jose, a new ice creamery in Campbell already has the scoop on the show.

Set to open in the Pruneyard this past Wednesday, Humphry Slocombe is serving a limited edition flavor, Champagne & Strawberries, inspired by Broadway San Jose's latest production. The flavor will be featured in all seven Humphry Slocombe scoop shops for the month of March or until the flavor runs out.

Champagne & Strawberries might run longer than “Pretty Woman,” which is making its Northern California premiere at San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts March 21-26. Humphry Slocombe co-founder Sean Vahey said his stores partnered with the theater company to “bring the world of ice cream and arts together.”

“Our community partners are essential to creating a more dynamic theatergoing experience, and we look forward to this sweet new friendship,” Broadway San Jose General Manager Gretchen Feyer said in a statement.

As with Champagne & Strawberries, all Humphry Slocombe flavors are hand-crafted in small batches. Among its best-sellers is Secret Breakfast, made with bourbon and cornflakes. Food Network has named Secret Breakfast one of the Top 5 Ice Creams in America.

For the grand opening of its Campbell store, a guests were asked to donate $1 to Project Open Hand, Humphry Slocombe's ongoing charity partner.

Project Open Hand's mission is to improve health outcomes and quality of life by providing community education

programs and nutritious meals to the sick and vulnerable. Tickets for “Pretty Woman: The Musical” are available at broadwaysanjose.com
