NAVY MEN’S SOCCER: The Navy men's soccer team (1-9-1, 0-4-0 Patriot League) continues its league schedule on Friday night at 7 p.m. against Army (4-6-1, 1-3-0 PL) in the seventh annual Army-Navy Cup at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa.

Friday's match is a Star Match between the two programs and is part of the Army-Navy Star Series. The men's soccer match on Friday will be one of four Army-Navy Star competitio­ns this weekend. Through the first three Star competitio­ns in the Army-Navy Star Series, Army has earned two Stars (men's golf and sprint football), while Navy won the last Star in volleyball. The Black Knights and Midshipmen will also have Star competitio­ns in women's soccer, women's cross country and men's cross country this weekend.

NAVY WOMEN’S SOCCER: The 2018 Star Match between the Army and Navy women's soccer teams lies ahead this Friday night at 7 p.m. in Annapolis. The Mids will host their service academy rivals from New York in a matchup of two of the Patriot League's top-five teams. Navy comes into the contest at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility with a 8-4-3 record and a 4-1 mark in Patriot League play, while Army will enter at 6-3-5, 2-2-1 in league action. MARYLAND MEN’S BASKETBALL: Junior guard Anthony Cowan Jr. was tabbed a Preseason All-Big Ten selection in an announceme­nt made at the conference offices at Big Ten Basketball Media Day Thursday. Cowan was a Third Team All-Big Ten honoree last year, averaging a team-best 15.8 points and 5.1 assists while leading the Big Ten in minutes per game (37.0). Cowan Jr. also finished as one of the league's most efficient free throw shooters, hitting 84.8% of his attempts (162-of-191) which ranked third in the B1G.
