Five Midshipmen men’s gymnasts win events

The Navy gymnastics team continued producing high-scoring results as the Midshipmen defeated William & Mary, 402.00-384.45 on Saturday afternoon. Surpassing the 400-point mark for the second consecutiv­e meet, Navy (7-2, 1-0 ECAC) won the first two events over the Tribe (4-6, 0-1 ECAC) and led from that point on as it eventually secured a 17.55-point victory.

Navy’s effort was led by a plethora of high-level performanc­es as five different gymnasts placed first in events on Saturday.

Individual standouts for Navy included Lucas Beltran, who won the floor exercise, David Toussaint, who captured the pommel horse crown and Josh Williams, who finished on top for the rings event. The final two gymnasts to win events in the head-to-head duel were Max Gerber on the parallel bars and Giovanni Gambatese on the high bar.

As a team, Navy scored 67.8 points on the floor exercise, 66.3 on the pommel horse, 67.5 on the rings, 68.55 on the vault, 65.85 on the parallel bars and 66.0 on the high bar.

Navy Men’s Tennis: Nine different Midshipmen won at least one match in the squad’s 7-0 victory over Mount St. Mary’s Friday evening. Additional­ly, Navy dropped a 7-0 decision at Penn Friday afternoon in Philadelph­ia.

Finn Garner (Broadneck) combined with Reilly Wilson to win their doubles match, 6-0, while Garner was also victorious at No. 2 Singles, earning a 6-3, 6-2 win over Parth Sharma of Mount St. Mary’s.

Lycoming Men’s Basketball: Freshmen Mo Terry (Severn School) was a perfect 6-for-6 from 3-point range to lift him to a career-high 24 points as the Warriors shot 66.7 percent (18-for-27) from beyond-thearc, as they handed league-leading Widener University its first MAC Commonweal­th conference loss of the season, 91-79, on Saturday.

McDaniel Men’s Basketball: Che Colbert (Broadneck) contribute­d 11 points, but the Green Terror fell to No. 1 Swarthmore, 80-44.
