County adds 46 new coronaviru­s cases

Anne Arundel total count tops 9,700; Maryland hits new low in positivity rate

Anne Arundel County has confirmed 46 newcoronav­irus casesWedne­sday bringing the county’s total to 9,759, according to MarylandHe­alth Department data.

Thecounty has reported 233 deaths from the virus and another 12 fatalities from people who health officials believe died from the virus but a lab test was not completed.

As of Tuesday, the county had a sevenday rolling average of 8.9 coronaviru­s cases per 100,000, down from13.4 per 100,000 on Saturday. The county peaked at 14.2 per 100,000 in early August.

Maryland added 385 new coronaviru­s cases in the last 24 hours and eight new deaths. The state’s rolling seven-day rate of positive cases reached 2.6% Wednesday, a new lowduring the pandemic.

In all, the state has reported 121,297 confirmed coronaviru­s cases and 3,756 deaths. The state reported 332 patients currently hospitaliz­ed because of the virus.
