Anne Arundel adds 61 virus cases, no deaths

Anne Arundel County added 61 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus on Friday, pushing the total number of infections since the beginningof thepandemicto 9,873, according to data from theMaryland Department ofHealth.

With nonewreported deaths, the county death toll sits at 234, though another 12 residents are believed to have died of the virus butwere never tested.

Across the state, the state health department reported at least 559 new infections, bringing the total number of infections statewide to122,359, and at least sevenmore deaths, bringing the death toll to 3,772.

The statewide rolling seven-day positivity rate fell to 2.51%, down from2.57% on Thursday.

At least 344 Marylanders are currently hospitalized with the virus, which is five fewer thanwere reported Thursday.
