Anne Arundel County adds 177 new cases, but no deaths
Anne Arundel County added 177 new coronavirus cases and no new deaths Monday, according to data from the Maryland Department of Health.
The total number of cases since the pandemic took hold in March now stands at 16,919. At least 285 Anne Arundel County residents have died. Another12 are believed to have died of the virus but were never tested. The state also reported that at least 56 more Marylanders had been hospitalized with the virus, which pushes hospitalization to their highest level since May.
The increased numbers come after the Thanksgiving holiday, which officials predicted would cause an increase of cases on top of the fall surge the state is already experiencing.
Because of an increased demand for tests, the Anne Arundel County Department of Health requires appointments at some testing sites to prevent residents from congregating in long lines.
Appointments are required for testing at the Department of Health Annex, Baymeadow Parking Lot and O’Malley Senior Center/.
