Denny Merle Stam, age 89, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on December 26, 2020 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born in Jamestown, New York, he was the son of Harry James Stam and Edna (Lake) Stam.

Denny is survived by his beautiful, loving wife of 70 years, Barbara Joyce Stam; daughters, DeeAnna Marie Stehl (John Wilson Stehl III), Victoria Lee Macin (Bryan Francis Macin), Cynthia Sue Kelley (Edward Francis Kelly III); grandchild­ren, Amy Bauer(Drew), Morgan Stehl, Zachary Smith (Jessica), Gretchen Amrein (Justin), Nick Kelley (Brittany), G.W. Smith (Lauren), Jon Paul Kelley, Brittany Kelley, Liz Bartlett (Grant); 14 great-grandchild­ren; brother and sister-in-law, Bonnie and Bruce Colburn; nephews, Craig and Jeff Colburn, Dan Sack, Warren & Steve Stam and niece Beth Sack.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Mother and Father in law, Ruth and Frank Sack; brothers, John and Sherwood Stam and brother in law Richard Sack.

Denny’s family was the most important thing to him and he redefined unconditio­nal love. He was a devoted & beloved husband, father, grandfater & great-grandfathe­r. His love also reached his many friends & neighbors. His relentless kindness, wit & loving dispositio­n were admired by all blessed to know him.

He graduated from Delhi College and ran The Stam Company. He drew, designed & facilitate­d window placement for several buildings in Ocean and Baltimore City and at one time he was affiliated with Marriott up & down the East Coast. He served on the board for the communitie­s he resided in Ellicott City, Severna Park and Bel Air. He and Barbara enjoyed traveling, boating, skiing, square dancing, singing, and playing bridge. They were active in the Methodist churches in New York, Virginia and Maryland.

A beautiful celebratio­n of life will be held at a later date.
