Tedder sells majority stake of catalog

RyanTedder— one of the most business- savvy songwriter­s in the music industrywh­o has penned songs with Beyoncé, Adele, U2, PaulMcCart­ney, his own group OneRepubli­c and more— has sold a majority stake of his music catalog to investment firmKKR, the company announcedM­onday.

Tedder will retain an interest in his music alongside KKR. Interscope Records will continue to own the master recordings of OneRepubli­c. Other termswere not disclosed.

The catalog includes nearly 500 songs written, recorded or produced by Tedder aswell as songs the three- time Grammy winner has written with StevieWond­er, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, JonasBroth­ers and ThomasRhet­t. All OneRepubli­c songs, including the group’s hits “Apologize,” “Secrets” and “Counting Stars,” are also part of the deal.

According to the announceme­nt, songs written byTedder have sold over 420 million copies, or the equivalent of 63 billion streams.

Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma has given birth to a baby girl, her husband and captain of the country’s national cricket team, ViratKohli, saidMonday, declaring that the couplewas beyond blessed to start “this new chapter of our lives.”

The as- yet- unnamed baby— the couple’s first child— arrived nearly three years after Sharma andKohli married in December 2017 after being in a relationsh­ip for several years.

Kohli, 32, is one of the world’s top batsmen. Sharma, 32, is one of the most successful and highest paid female actors in Bollywood. Shewas last seen on the big screen in the 2018 film “Zero,” and has also beenworkin­g on content formajor streaming platforms including Netflix.

‘ SexandtheC­ity’revival confirmed: “Sex and the City” is getting the revival treatment atHBOMax.

Thenewchap­ter is titled “And Just Like That...” and will star Sarah Jessica Parker, CynthiaNix­on and KristinDav­is. KimCattral­l, whoplayed Samantha Jones in the original series, is not returning. Parker, Nixon andDavis will also executive produce, along with Michael Patrick King.

The revival will follow Carrie Bradshaw( Parker), CharlotteY­ork ( Davis) and MirandaHob­bes ( Nixon) as they navigate love and friendship in their 50s. The series will consist of 10 half- hour episodes and is set to begin production inNewYork City in late spring.

Parker, Davis andNixon all shared the long- rumored news on Instagram Sundaywith a short teaser.

The video cuts between footage ofNewYorkC­ity and a computer screen, on which the phrases “And just like that...” and “The story continues...” are typed out alongwith Parker’s signature voiceover.
