Evora Deloris Davis, 89, passed on December 13, 2020 in Annapolis, Maryland at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Annapolis was her home since 1976. Her burial service was held, with immediate family at Lea and Pope Funeral Home in Enfield, North Carolina.

Lovingly know as Deloris, she was born in Warrenton, North Carolina on February 03, 1931 as the only child to father Arthur Clifton Pope and mother Eva Belle Lynch Pope. Her early years were spent in Enfield, North Carolina before relocating to Washington, D.C. with her mother and father in 1941. While residing in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Davis attended Grimke Elementary, Shaw Junior High, Dunbar High School, and Howard University.

Likened to a page of a story book, Deloris met Othello Davis at Union Station in Washington, D.C. connecting over their shared upbringing in Enfield, North Carolina. They began courting and married in 1952 in Newport Rhode Island. Together, they had three children, Cheryl Denise Davis, Clifton Othello Davis (deceased), and Shelly Diane Davis.

Deloris worked as a computer programmer for the United States Department of Justice and as a real estate agent after her retirement from programming. Through the years her favorite past times were reading, tending to her rose garden, word puzzles, and listening to her favorite singer Sarah Vaughan’s version of “Send in the Clowns.”

She is survived by her daughter’s Cheryl McFadden (formerly Davis) and Shelly Davis, grandchildren Craig Carrington, (spouse Chawanna Carrington), Scott Carrington (spouse Kelly Carrington), Darin Gilliam (formerly McFadden, spouse Alex Gilliam), and Malcolm McFadden (fiancé Jasmine Smith), and greatgrandchildren, Mason Carrington, McKenzie Carrington, Naaman Carrington, Niyah Carrington, Evan Gilliam, and Elise Gilliam, and her niece Debra Davis.
