Miles subject of probe at LSU

Kansas football coach Les Miles, during his tenure at LSU, was accused of kissing a female student and texting her and another from his personal phone, leading the school to bar him from being alone with women who were student employees, according to a 2013 LSU investigat­ion that the school released Thursday.

Miles’ attorney told USA Today that the coach continues to deny the allegation­s.

Baseball: OF Jackie Bradley Jr. plans to sign a two-year, $24 million deal with the Brewers, according to reports. Bradley, 30, had spent his entire career with the Red Sox. ... Braves LHP Max Fried won’t make his first scheduled start of spring training Friday due to a potential exposure to someone with COVID-19.

College basketball: Villanova senior PG Collin Gillespie was diagnosed with a torn MCL in his left knee and likely will miss the rest of the season. Gillespie, who was averaging 14.0 points and 4.6 assists, suffered the injury during the 10th-ranked Wildcats’ Big East title-clinching win over No. 14 Creighton on Wednesday night.

Golf: Rory McIlroy and Corey Conners each shot an opening-round 6-under 66 to share a one-stroke lead over Bryson DeChambeau at the Arnold Palmer Invitation in Orlando, Fla. ... Nelly Korda, winner last week at the Gainbridge LPGA, shot an opening-round 5-under 67 to share a one-stroke lead with Jennifer Kupcho and Austin Ernst at the Drive On Championsh­ip in Ocala, Fla.

NBA: Trail Blazers G CJ McCollum was cleared for contact practice as he continues to recover from a left foot fracture. He will be re-evaluated next week. McCollum suffered the injury Jan. 16 during a win over the Hawks. He had been averaging 26.7 points and 5.0 assists.

NHL: Sidney Crosby started for the Penguins against the Flyers after being activated from the COVID-19 list. Crosby missed Tuesday’s game. The Flyers were without F Joel Farabee, who was added to the COVID-19 list . ... The Devils placed captain Nico Hischier on IR retroactiv­e to Saturday. Hischier suffered a broken nose and a concussion when he was hit in the shield of his helmet by a shot during a game against the Capitals. He’s listed as week to week.
